A roadmap for midlife women, couples, clinicians and anyone wanting to understand the societal, historical and physiological effects of how we age sexually and how to resolve and treat issues.

Sex in midlife can be a bumpy road, especially for women. Our bodies change with age, and those changes can lead to shame, confusion, embarrassment, loss of desire to be intimate, and even the destruction of a relationship. The Bedroom Gap is a roadmap for midlife women, for couples, for clinicians and for anyone who wants to understand the societal, historical, and physiological effects of how we age, sexually speaking. It not only clarifies what the physical changes of menopause are and how they affect our midlife sex lives, it also details how society developed destined-to-fail gender roles and expectations in the bedroom and makes clear how we can change them, narrow the discrepancy in sexual desires, expectations and sometimes functioning between midlife men and women, and embrace new possibilities for sex in midlife.
